The Ten Commandments of the Connection report according to the mayor of Phunkier Than Thou:
1. If someone shows as a 0, 1, 2, 3 or whatever they probably have a good reason to do so. Thou shalt respect that.
2. Thou shalt remember that if someone shows as a 0, 1, 2, 3 or whatever they are most certainly aware of it and won’t need a written reminder.
3. Thou shalt remember that it’s a great gesture to sometimes thank your great connections in some way!
4. Thou shalt remember and respect that everyone is in their own right to choose their pop-rate without being questioned. If you’re dissatisfied with the pop-rate from a certain player the problem is yours, not theirs.
5. Thou shalt read city messages – they often contain important clues to the reasons behind the number shown in your connection report
6. Thou shalt also remember that no player is obliged to update their city messages, nor to in any other way inform you about reasons for absence or changes of gameplay habits. The city message is just a way to inform IF that is what you want to do.
7. Thou shalt remember that city messages are to be considered perishable, they are not a lifelong contract.
8. Thou shalt remember that absent players can’t read wall messages.
9. Thou shalt remember that a load of wall messages questioning the pop-rate may be discouraging if the player chooses to come back.
10. In accordance to the above the best thing to do if you are dissatisfied with a connection is to silently disconnect. There are plenty of metrofish in the sea.
