Advice part 2 - A school, a doctor's office and a police kiosk, ASAP. See your City Indexes? on the Stats tab? Well, the more your population grows, the more you need to pay attention to these. This is because you have now hit 2000 population! Actually, it's not that bad, but the Education and Health indexes need to be higher than 1; 2 is the highest, try to keep them up there. The Crime index needs to be LOW, well below 1. Higher than 1 and it reduces your revenue earned by a percentile value. Education Index at 2 and Health index at 2 will increase revenue generated by 20% and reduce welfare fees by 30% respectively (check my Stats). Below 1 and the reduce revenue and increase welfare fees respectively. Purchasing cheap items like Schools, Police Kiosks and Doctor's Offices will keep these in check. Buy them one at a time. Try to by Private schools as these generate revenue AND help Education. Later on (when you're earning good cash) you can by a Hospital and some Police Stations. And then eventually a Sanitation Plant. Do not buy Gas Stations and Pubs. They contribute to crime, even if they earn you good cash. There are better earners. Avoid Power Plants and Factories. They will not do you any good. When you get your Culture Points up you will start seeing more stuff appear, and you can move to Business Buildings and Convention Centres, and Landmarks, which all earn good cash. Buy some Parks, Playgrounds and houses to get your culture up (and get rid of your Factory), and then aim for a Horseman - more stuff will start to appear, as Culture is the key to expansion. Watch you don't buy too much non-revenue-earning stuff as it actually eats into your revenue.

Now, you need to add Police Kiosks/Stations, some schools or other aducational facilities, and hospitals or doctor's offices. Your indexes are poor and you are not generating as much revenue as you could. TAX. Set your tax at 20% NOW. If you are on facebook a lot, then you can set iit higher as long as you can keep checking up to make sure your happiness doesn't get too low. A few things I do: - When I can monitor every few hours, I st the Tax rate to 40%. - When I'm going to be away for 8 hours or more, I reduce it to 34%. - When I have to be away for one to two days, I reduce it to 25 or so. - If I want the cash, but can't keep a check, then I stop population by setting the "NO MORE PEOPLE" switch on the Mayor tab. If you want to keep happiness up, buy houses instead of Parks and Playgrounds, because at least houses earn you revenue - Parks and Playgrounds continue to cost you every day. (Whenever possible, buy revenue-generating stuff in multiples of 10 if you can afford it, since then you pay the current price for all 10. If you buy one at a time, it goes up each time.) Remember that you earn Tax money on establishments that have jobs FILLED, they earn nothing if you have jobs AVAILABLE. It's better to have more people than jobs, rather than more jobs than people. You need a balance though, because unemployed people require welfare, but revenue-earning establishments with no employees earn diddly-squat. Grocery, Pizza, Bus Stops, Bistros and Cafes are all good investments - the return on investment remains good for a long time - I have over 200 of each of these and they are still give a good return. Good luck.
