Renee, I stumbled across your post in the forum. There are some great guides for new players if you follow the help link. Some useful links I used when I was a newbie were: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dfbrc324_275g77575c6 and http://apps.facebook.com/metropolisgame/forums.php?topic=1&action=view&thread=1404. One helpful piece of advice I was given: Make sure your city is prepared before it gets to population of 2000. The city indexes are harder to maintain then. So make sure you have a decent cash flow from establishments (if you need to, only accept ENT at pop 1999 for a while and build up your cash flow). Hope that helps. :D
