September 11th is coming up and as most mayors know I like to use my wall to honor the holidays remember the fallen and share stories we have had some great stories in the past year that has made us laugh, cry, and stop and think. PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT AND SHARE ON THE WALL A MEMORIE OF SEPTEMBER 11TH TO HONOR THE ONES WHO HAVE FALLEN AND THE ONES LEFT BEHIND STANDING TODAY.. WE WERE ALL EFFECTED THAT DAY IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.. LETS HERE YOUR PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS PLEASE.... My phone rang the morning of September 11th with a voice telling me to turn the television on. As I did my knees gave out my heart skipped a beat. I lived in Virginia not far from the pentagon. I couldn’t breathe as I was watching the towers come down I couldn’t even see the television anymore from the tears building up in my eyes. I called my mother in California 3 hours behind us in time and told her to turn on her television the twin towers were being attracted my father’s family is from New York, my mother’s side is from Boston...I even got in my car and thought I was going to work.. Bumper to bumper traffic because when u looked up in the sky u can see the big black ball of smoke in the air. Then the news was saying the flight numbers to my surprise one of the flights that hit the towers was the one my grandmother was on. So we thought… it was her flight leaving Logan airport but that day she was running late and missed her plane. I thank god every day for sparing my grandmothers life and the members of my family. Till this day I cry for the loss of the lives the families the heroes, the children.. The world will never forget.. I will never forget. May we all continue to move forward brining their memories with us daily..
