Listen to Ben, he is an expert on this...turn your pop off and then keep your happy up until you learn what more to do and get some cash flow built to earn enough to buy the non revenue items you need. Do it right from the start and you will have a marvelous city!

popped......., you need pops at the moment to get more ticket money from visitors, but remember not to let your happiness drop below 20% else you get no ticket income and any money you have built up is used to pay for 'upkeep' ao your money goes down, fast too sometimes. Post on the Main wall for pops or ent ,from other players, depending what you need most at that time .. ent = happiness so will push your % happiness up everytime someone gives you entertainment hope this has helped and you not fallen asleep reading it lol .... connections help too, let me know if you would like to connect cities good luck

One thing that I am doing right now, I am trying not to grow my population over 2000 because of the indexes. That can cause even more havoc. You can turn that population growth off on the Mayor tab. houses are good money earners , stay away from the factorys, you need to build up your culture and keep on top of your health, then the money will start rolling in after a week or so,
