try to keep your population down below 1200 at first until you get your income good and high. then keep it below 2000 until you have fire stations, police stations and so on so that you do not have a lot of criminals being born I was told to sell some of my parks and playgrounds because the upkeep was too high. so I only have a few. do not buy industry land right now because it will put you in the negative with culture and your happiness goes down. I bought up bus stops at first and houses because they do not give jobs. you do not want to exceed your population with jobs. you can turn off the populate tab when your happiness gets low or to keep you from getting to 2000 too fast
