Jenn Abel, mayor ofTor York Cityover 15 years agoWell, you can sell off the land...you'll only get 1/2 the money back for it though. Or, you can hold onto it and be patient for it to pay off. :) It could take a little while...in the beginning, some of it ends up being trial & error.

Jenn Abel, mayor ofTor York Cityover 15 years agoHappiness is gained through purchases as well ... of course. *eyes roll* 2 methods -- check out "Landmarks" tab & "No Revenue Buildings" Depending on what's available thus far, Landmarks -- only FIRST-TIME purchases will increase happiness. For the other tab, however, most buildings give a degree of happiness, anywhere from 10% to 50%, based on how important the building is to the every day life of the average citizen, and how "green" it is for the environment. You can buy multiple "no revenue buildings" to get your happiness increased to where you need it, but be careful to watch your income in those situations, too.
Jenn Abel, mayor ofTor York Cityover 15 years ago* The goal starting out is to make the most $$ and spend the least. * You will need to increase your music note (I forget what they refer to that as) status to gain more items to buy. * There are different things to buy - just below your finances, there should be 4 or 5 tabs -> your options of what to buy. "Undeveloped Land" is what you'll always have to go back to & purchase, so you can build stuff on it. If I remember correctly, you start off with Grocery Store & Bus Stop as your main establishments / money-makers to purchase. As in real life, you need to balance your income & expenses, taking into account your taxes, too (but I'm getting ahead talking about taxes). :o)

To connect with another city (player), click on their pic, select "add as a friend", put something in the friend request (like just the app name), and click send... Start with just clicking my pic - then you'll have 2 choices (pick either), above or to the right of my pic. :o)
