Good News An elderly lady telephoned the Sydney City Hospital. She timidly asked, "Could I please speak to someone who can give me some information on how a patient is doing?" After assuring the operator that she was a relative of the patient the call was put through to the ward sister. The elderly lady again quietly made the request for information about the patient. The ward sister was most helpful.. "I'll be glad to help, Dear. What's the name and room number?" In a weak tremulous voice the lady replied, "Mrs Ethel Jeffers..She is in room 15." "Let me check." said the Ward Sister " Oh, good news.The records say that Ethel is doing well. Her blood pressure is back to normal; her blood tests all look good. In fact, her doctor, has scheduled her to be discharged early nexr week." The now very relieved voice replied, "Thank you. That's wonderful! I was so worried! God bless you for the good news." "You're more than welcome." said the sister. " Is Ethel your sister?" "No," said replied the elderly caller "I'm Ethel jeffersl in room 15. No-one tells me anything!"
