Gods Waiting Room

THE ANGEL'S REWARD The years went by slowly as the two staues stood opposite one another in the park. They watched the children as they played in the gardens and as they grew up and had children of their own. Life was peaceful but a bit lonely. Finally an Angel appeared and spoke to them. "You have been patient, And such exemplary statues that I'm going to give you a special gift. For just thirty minutes I am able to give you life and movement. You can do anything you want, but remember, I can only give you thirty minutes." With a clap of his hands that sounded like distant thunder the angel brought the statues to life. The two stretched, and took deep breaths and then slowly and shyly reached out and touched hands. He smiled, She smiled, as if after so many years they didn't need words. Then still without speaking they disappeared amongst the trees. The angel gazed in the direction they had gone with a knowing smile. And this spread to a grin as he heard the giggling, laughter, and shaking of branches. Fifteen minutes later, the statues emerge. looking relaxed and with huge grins on their faces. "You still have fifteen more minutes," said the angel, winking conspiratorially. Grinning even more widely she turned to her partner and said, "Let's go.. Only this time you hold the pigeon while I poop on it's head."
